WHY FINANCIAL LITERACY?
I found myself approaching the end of high school excited for my future at college. However, I realized that I knew very little about banking, taxes, and other financial topics.

As a Girl Scout, I have the opportunity to complete a meaningful project that will benefit the community. This project is otherwise known as a Gold Award, which the highest award a Girl Scout can earn.
WHAT I DID
After weeks of researching and interviewing, I compiled enough information about financial literacy to host four workshops: two designated for middle school students and two for high school students. Of course, the amount of financial literacy information is limitless online, and it is impossible to capture all information into a workshop about an hour long. Therefore, this website is intended to give students the chance to learn about the crucial building blocks of financial literacy that can lead to a more successful future.

My workshops covered four topics designed for teenagers: budgeting, using money, investing and achieving wealth, and college costs. The information about these four subtopics can be found by clicking on the Topics Covered tab. More information about financial literacy can be found on the internet. Under the More tab, I have included various website that have helped me with my research on financial literacy.
